Wind out the east fish bite the least wind out the west fish bite the best. The saying was meant for tidal systems east wind pushes water in and spreads fish out. Wind out the west pushes water out and fish stack up in outlets letting all the bait fish funnel to them.

Yup Massachusetts east winds makes fishing tough.
Wind from the east fish bite the least, wind from the south hook um in the mouth, wind from the west they always bite the best, wind from the north don't go forth. Go fishing when you get the chance you never know when your personal best will get topped!
First time i have ever heard this saying. But, I can see how it could possibly be a factor in ones success or lack thereof on the water. Makes me kind of glad I'm in the area I'm in because its extremely rare for us to get any kind of East wind at all. 👍🇺🇸
