  1. You made it controversial………..and we look back and should of stopped it before it ruins being a pro and no tournaments….compare it to the Gold rush era….everyone loved the money….it brought more panners….then the gold ran out….towns dried up…and it was over…..can’t compare it to baseball…there is no drug that you can take to hit a 95 mile an hour fastball…that takes skill…..ANY PRO THAT GETS PISSED IS BECAUSE THEY CAN’T CATCH THEM WITHOUT IT….PERIOD…..

  2. what I think they will do is just make a new fishing league that doesn't use all that stuff. Ur right they are probably gonna draw a line in the sand and the only way over it is to make a new league… the problem is sponsors though. All those sponsors WANT the fisherman with +$40,000 in graphs. Thats obviously where they make a lot of their money and they want people to see it and buy it. If they make a new league then they may end up fishing for less money unless they make up for it in viewership. The technology is going to get crazy. Ur gonna be wearing Garmin sunglasses that augment the reality… you'll see bushs and brush underwater like it wasn't even there. The fish will glow… you'll be able to eventually see the whiskers on a catfish! Its gonna be like fishing in a real life video game 100%. Thats the direction we going. And ur 100% right a line will be drawn in the sand and I think we'll end up seeing a new old-school league out of it. The pros want to fish where they can win the most money so it would be interesting if they can make the league payouts similar so the pros don't feel pidgeon holes into one league for the money.

  3. Todd check this out you can still win tournaments without livescope just saying I just dont know what all the fuss is about because it is just another electronic is all, yeah I own the livescope plus I see the power behind it for sure but I am not scoping the whole time either so it's just another unit yall relax😂 best fishing is to turn it off and slide up shallow 😉 it is a tool use it like one best advice😂

  4. Spinning Rod Todd, I agree completely. The Livescope era will be thought about the same way that baseball talks about the steriod era. So which livescoper will be the Sosa, McGuire, and Bonds?

  5. Great video Todd! I agree with your points. As with all sports, they evolve. Athletes get faster, stronger, more agile as new training techniques come along. Think of baseball in the 1930's compared to today's game… how many of those players could hit a 100 mph pitch? Probably very few to none. Not knocking that era, it is was true baseball purity. Today's players are seeing 90 mph pitching in high school. So, they are getting better at a younger age. This is true for tournament anglers. They are using technologies today that was not available to Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Roland Martin, etc back in the 60's and 70's. The fun debate would be, how would that era (60's & 70's) fair against today's era? It would be the MJ versus LJ debate 😉

  6. I hate ffs but still love watching all of it. Might be in the minority but I see the skill involved with using it. Still think it should be banned and after this season it may and I’ll be all for it. Still watching either way. I’ll support these dudes by watching because they are just playing by the rules they didn’t create.

  7. To me, the Hydrowave should be the more controversial topic. This thing is advertised to stimulate fish to feed. Anglers have said that it helps them get more bites. With FFS, you can see fish but it doesn’t guarantee a bite. If Hydrowave technology gets better and can actually stimulate a fish to bite that you can see with FFS, in my mind that would be a greater risk to the sport.

  8. Randy Blauket, has already wanted an Asterisk placed by their name in one of his videos from a while back. Totally agree on the subject, I've already seen it happen locally. People talking asking how you caught them, get funny looks when they say live…

  9. This is so hard to figure out

    1) they band 8’ plus fishing poles (they can sale you a 7’ 11’) for the same price

    2) they band 250 HP plus motors (they can sale you that vs a 300 for relatively same profit)

    3) they band Alabama rigs (only a few companies could make a small amount of profit off of it which would take away from other bait sales)

    4) using a tiller handle or a boat with not the minimum horsepower (can’t make no money off of people fishing out of a 25hp 15’ boat)

    The list goes on…

Let’s not ban a black box that probably cost them less than 200 dollars to make and we can sell them for over 1000 plus rediculously huge screens. Pad the pockets of the tournament executives so they don’t ban it

Starting to see a pattern here people??

    It’s all about the $$$

  10. While I do agree with the basic general idea of your prediction of how eras will be compared in the future, I disagree that fishing is anything like other sports. In fact, I think it is closer to a commercial marketing venture than a sport, but I don’t want to be pedantic. Fishing is different because it involves an unpredictable animal where equipment that you use to
catch that animal plays a huge factor. Baseball and basketball, although the rules have changed over the years, has never really had the equipment enhancement that has all the sudden made an average player into a great player. For example, MLB doesn’t allow aluminum bats. First, for safety purposes. Second, and more importantly, it tarnishes the purity of the sport. It obscures people’s physical talents. I know for a fact I’m a great hitter with an aluminum bat, but if you put a wooden bat in my hand, I’m average at best. Some guys can do both aluminum and wooden. Some are better with one or the other. Some suck at both. lol! However, if you can hit with a wooden bat…you’re good. The parallels I’m trying to make with fishing are that it’s the same with FFS. Some are only good because of it. Some are good despite it. Some would become good again without it. Some suck all around. lol! Like MLB, did with aluminum baits, B.A.S.S. should ban FFS to preserve the purity of the sport, and allow people to fully showcase their skills leaving no doubt who the best are. No obscurities of who won because of technology. Only talent, intuition, instincts, were the deciding factors. That’s the mark of a true professional. I can’t beat Michael Jordan by putting his shoes on. I can beat a pro using FFS, and there is something not right about that. Lastly, is it cheating, no, not in the technical sense, but I don’t think people mean it that way. I think they “feel” that it is cheating. From that perspective, it very well may be cheating, or at least off putting.

  11. New technology is coming Todd and its gonna be worse. Guys will be wearing vr goggles some kind of Ai nonsense that tells you where the fish are taking the body temp of fish to show when they are more likely to bite etc. Whatever I don't blame the guys for using it they are trying toget every advantage and make a living. Since that's not my situation I never intend to use it. I'll go fly fishing for bluegill first.

  12. You are absolutely on point with this. I've been saying to everyone fffs hasn't even evolved all the way yet. Wait two years and everyone that wants to win will have to be scoping. End of co angling for sure. I drew a guy in Toyota he was smashing them on ffs got around some grass ask him if he had a rat l trap. He said and I believe him one hundred percent he said he has never caught a fish on a trap in his life. Early twenties maybe younger. We might as well adapt or quit no need to argue cause it's here to stay. And you are right todd I think most everyone is caught in the middle. GREAT VIDEO

  13. Life is full of decision and actions that you have to make you have to fish tomarrows tournaments not past tournaments "BACK IN THE DAY " over . If you fish for a living you have to eat todays BOLOGNA not last months because it is OLD AND MOLDED .FISHED SINCE I WAS 11 YEARS OLD ,NOW 65 IF I WANT TO COMPETE YEAR ROUND ON ALL LAKES I WOULD HAVE TO USE THIS TECHNOLOGY. THEY NEED TO START A MIKE ICAN….. AND RANDY BLAUKAT CIRCUIT AND CALL IT THE BITCH MASTERS CIRCUIT LEARN TO USE IT OR LEARN TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED SOMETIMES.I WILL HELP PUT FUEL ON THIS FIRE!

  14. Just out of curiosity, do ya think it gets to the point where the electronics you can use gets limited to practice prior to tournaments and during the tournament they limit the anglers to certain electronics during tournaments? I think it’s unrealistic to think it gets the Kibosch by tournament organizations and gets outright banned, but I don’t think it would be a long shot to see tournaments start putting some kind of limitations or equipment regulations to keep everybody running the same technology in a couple years down the road once the technology has another big advancement. I think the most likely outcome is them limiting the technology during the tournaments and then still let the anglers use any technology they want during practice. With that said I don’t think the technology is at the point that a tournament does anything this season or next, but I wouldn’t be suprised if the technology turns into underwater footage in real time that can be adjusted to see far distances and depths out there, I’d guess it’ll take 5 years or so to have a bigger breakthrough in technology to the point that the tournament organizations have to shake things up
