Headwaters Giant Swimbait Bass

Hey guys, welcome back to my personal channel! This is the 2nd day on the new lake in Florida, Headwaters lake. Decided to head out this way and do some fishing side by side my buddy @CarlJocumsen with Scot filming and my Riley by my side. To catch the first day on this new bass fishery, check out the video on the @BigBassDreams channel here –

People have been telling me for a long time that “Big Swimbaits” just won’t work where they live. “Too much grass”, etc. etc. I’ve heard this from people fishing in Florida. Do swimbaits work in the shallow vegetation filled lakes of Florida? I think this cements that possibility as fact.

Look for some technical insight, mechanics breakdowns, fish behavior observations and various other learning opportunities as we go down memory lane and pick apart some of the dope fishing I’ve got to do in my career!

Make sure to stay tuned into the Big Bass Dreams YouTube Channel as well as this one, as you’re going to be getting different content than what you’ve been accustomed to seeing through the BBD platforms.

  1. Hey Oliver, I recently got the 210 in a slow sink and have some pretty insane reactions with fish. In this video you seem to be working the bait quicker and with some jerks. Are you using the Fs (fast sink) model?

  2. I know it's true I just wanted see you catch a bass out of one of the headwaters so I can fish the headwater and also give big ole swimbait a try too I'm living in Gloucester, Virginia right now I will see how many I can get out of Beaverdam headwater

  3. Bro the defiant swimbaits looks insane but Idk if I can justify the extra 30 compared to a hudd. Is it that big a difference? Also you look familiar where you on an episode of the dos boat?

  4. What do you feel is the heaviest fluro or copolymer that you can use without beginning to hinder bites or bait action? Im on the bank and have previously used heavy braid to leader to not lose as many baits but I recently switched to 20lb fluro and noticed more response on all of my baits especially the softbaits but do not like how easily you can break baits off and how easily it gets damaged from casting heavyish baits so I am considering bumping to 30lb and maybe even 40lb even though I'm normally throwing baits in the 7-8 inch range ( though they are going to get bigger very soon) and was wondering if you felt that could have a negative effect?

  5. Damn Nephew ! That's Bass damn near jumped into the Dream Machine! That S#%t was Nuckin Futz ! You living the good life Foe Reel !! Proud of you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ man! Unk!

  6. Teach us how to use thick lines and big baits….. Shore fishing. Not everyone has a boat yet. I caught a 5.5lbs with storm Arashi from the shore. I'm trying to get some megabass lures too.
