Harris Chain Bass Tournament — We Needed ONE BIG BITE
We hit the Harris Chain of Lakes for another Lake County Christian Bass Club tournament and had no problem getting bites — we just could never connect with that one BIG bite we needed. We caught a bunch of fish throughout the day and stayed in it, but never got that big one.
A lot of our fish came on topwater throwing a Whopper Plopper on a 7’3” Medium Heavy Fitzgerald Versa Series rod with 30 lb braid. I also picked up some key fish flipping docks with a black and blue Senko on a 7’3” Medium Heavy Fitzgerald Stunner HD.
It wasn’t the finish we were looking for, but that’s tournament fishing. Sometimes you’re around plenty of fish and just can’t get the right ones to bite.
🎣 Gear Used:
• Fitzgerald Versa Series 7’3” MH
• Fitzgerald Stunner HD 7’3” MH
• Whopper Plopper — 30 lb braid
• Black & Blue Senko — flipping docks
