This something few anglers carry in there boat: a hard bait first aid kit for topwater, crankbaits, jerkbaits and spybaits.

I have several gasketed hook boxes that include both premium and budget hooks. Red, black, chrome/silver, and bronze colors, normal and short shanks, extra strong, normal and light wire, mostly round bend but some ewg, the usual 2s, 4s, and 6s, but also some odd sizes too, mostly 5s and some 3s and a few 1s. Yep, too many hooks. I also sharpen my hooks with an Arkansas stone – just a light touch on brand new hooks, even owners. New hooks have a coating to prevent corrosion that comes off after the first catch and can make it sharper than new so I polish it off with my stone before I fish it. The thumbnail trick is my litmus test for sharpness. I check and touch up as needed the hooks on every bait I put on. Most I can sharpen but if I can’t I replace the hook.
Always carry a hook box!😎
I shout however I will as some to my current hook box. Great idea and new subscriber.
Thanx James. I'm a robber, but see your point.
Great tips yes it's been amazing how many upgrades I done to my hard baits. My pops was loosing fish and I put some bigger round bend on and he slayed the fish after that
I don't have nothing like that but I heard of it before so they're nice and clean
Fine tips!
