HAPPY NEW YEAR FISHING – Spinning Largemouth Bass * Pickerel * Brown Trout. Happy New Year! Started the eve on some moving water with no clue what to expect. That is the fun of fishing. Fished a bit with not much a sign but a small trout darting off to the other side of the river on cast of my shadow. Hike in and fish some holes. Hike some more up over the hills. Nice bend and going to fish this out if I get a sign. I did. A beautiful brown trout on then off on a play he made in current. I decide to fish this until dark. Reel starts to feel grindy. Oh boy. Can go anytime or in the middle. Really wanted to land a new year fish. More grindy. I decide to run back to the car up over and down the hills and down the road to save time to a favorite watering hole that has produced consistently for that new years fish to the feet. I arrive Its going to be dark in a hour. An hour to fish for THAT fish. I think… Ah, I can do it on the first cast. POSSIBLE. Not the first cast but about a handful in a golden green pickerel on and to the feet. The fishing lulled for about twenty minutes then it was pickerel bass pickerel or pickerel pickerel bass pickerel. Something like that into the dark. Now that is fishing.

Hi Jerry, one of the best ways to start a new year for me is with pickerel, and your video made my day. I haven`t got out yet but picked up my licenses for fresh and salt Saturday and got some synthetics for Mickey Finns at my Bass Pro Shop, they didn`t have flat silver tinsel so that`s being ordered. I`ll give you a heads up on its effectiveness at one of my local pickerel ponds. Wishing everybody a Happy New Years Day but more importantly a Happy New Year. Peace and brother love to you and all.

Hi Jerry, They were some nice Pickerel. That was good advice about stepping over a log. You never know when a snake is lying on the other side. We have a Black Snake living in the yard. He moves around the neighborhood. They eat bugs and rodents. Hope you have a very Happy New Year, Mickey

Happy new year, boy that stream looks good for trout nice bends with a little depth and that dark bottom look like great spots. And that spot w the pickerel seems very productive in general. My son and I are gonna try to get his first pickerel later on today. He still has a smile from his first Crappie on his face, but when he sees the pickerel you caught in this one, he will have me out the door 5 minutes later to go pond hopping lol. Have a great day.
I fished from a kayak today in the Aussie floods caught nothing hahaha testing a megabass vatalion vibration x ,… its a beautiful lure ill keep testing it, was chasing mangrove jacks and bass where the salt meets the fresh on the tweed river . you did well congrats 🥳happy new year
