Some places are just too good to pass up, even if you only have a few hours to fish, and its cold and rainy. The day after the Kayak Bassmaster Championship, the @thecreekcrawler and I decided to get out on the Illinois River with our @OldTownCanoeKayak peddle drives and go downstream about a mile than work our way back up. The effort was well worth it!!

Minnow in your shoe is good luck
John, you have to throw some jerk baits! Smallies love them this time of year.
BEAUTIFUL river bud. Obviously great fishing as usual..
Been wanting to get on some smallies on our local rivers, but rain has been an issue lately .
Looks like a great day of fishing with some nice smallies!
We need to kno setups🗣️🗣️
What editing software do you use for your videos
Putting a 9 incher on the measuring board is like using your blinker leaving your driveway. Don't know if you meant that to be funny but it was.
you end up all over the place; how far do you wander?
Great catches as always keep up the great work & GOD bless!
You should add some balsa wood square bills to the river box.
That's my kind of river good video
I been waiting for this collab!!! And it didn’t disappoint!!! Way to find the BIGS in the river!!!!
Great video. So glad you 2 finally got together.
FEET SCENT fish attractant attracts minnows, Ya'll saw it here first
Awesome fishing. Nice to see Creek Crawler.
Not me fwd to see the big smallies 😂
That spot in Tahlequa is awesome, you lucked out John in the summer I wouldn’t be anywhere near that section. I grew up on the upper section of the Illinois just across the Arkansas border. The big smallies are up in that area and is way less fished. Good video bud!
I love your videos man, just curious do you or anyone here in the comments do creek fishing around Elizabethtown, KY? If so where? I dont have a boat and am always struggling to find places to fish from the bank or to wade near me.
Brian I am in southwest Ohio.. right by the great Miami River. I hope to see you out sometime!
NO WAY MAN! You were in my town & I didn’t even know! Next time you’re back this way, I’d love to show you my favorite spots on the Illinois. That stretch you did is one of my favorites when I’ve only got a couple hours to fish. That fast current where the power lines run usually hold a good-sized smallie. I’m so glad you had a good time on the Illinois! God bless!
Fantastic Video
If you are ever in the area again hit up Baron fork creek. There is a public spot right off the bridge on welling road. It's an even clearer creek that runs into the Illinois right before tenkiller lake. about 20-30 minutes from where you guys are at. They always seem to be biting there!
Next time your in the area you should try and float the section after the Nohead hollow public access area. We were getting bit everywhere there was a combination of cover, current (but not too fast), and deeper water.
What a great day on the river for you two. I can’t wait for future collabs with you guys!!
Great video beautiful place wish out fishing
Glad you guys got to fish together and maybe add future trips on the creek tour. Its great seeing both of you grow as anglers and YouTubers. Some really nice smallies towards the end there. Congrats to both of you on qualifying and fishing the championship. I bet this was as much fun and a PB for the Crawler. Rock on boys and blessings
That's awesome you and Brian finally hooked up. I was hoping it would happen.
I live in S.E. Ohio on the Muskingum River and have fished many of the places Brian has but with far less results but always fun.
I sub to both of your channels for a couple years now and you 2 are the only "Creek Freaks" i sub to. I watch others but the content isnt the same. I always look forward to the next videos.
John, that was absolutely an awesome slow-mo release shot.
A big congrats to Brian on his new p.b. at 20.5. What a tank!
Thanks so much for what you both do.
May God continue to bless you both, Mountain Dew and hellgrammites.
LETS GO!!!!
John, now you have to come to the buckeye state and do some fishing with the creek crawler!!
I love how you guys adapt and overcame gunny…to bad it was at the end of the run. But that’s what you get when fishing with a Buckeye…GO BOILERS!
some good footballs in this one
You two guys made my evening with your videos posting the same day. I watched Creek Crawler's first though. Most excellent!
He's a great smallie fisherman.
I Love both of these guys lets go in Jesus name sincerely "The Dayton Metro Smallmouth Slayer"🙏🙌🗣🕊🔥🦅🐟.
Watching both of your channels inspired me to get into moving water!
Hey Man, you mind telling me what river that is? I live in Oklahoma so I’m curious
