From Skunked to Pumped – Fishing Lake Lewisville

I caught my first channel catfish, first crappie, and first bluegill at Lake Lewisville all in one day – but not before getting skunked on a previous trip! I had caught white bass and largemouth bass at Pilot Knoll Park in Highland Village, Texas many times, but the first time I targeted bluegill there, I came up empty-handed. This was really frustrating because I hoped to use bluegill as live bait for flathead catfish. I went back out there with my family a few days later though, and finally hooked up with those bluegill – and more.
