Have you ever used light braid (like 20 lb) with a flouro leader when frogging with a medium action rod instead of just straight mono?

Is it normal for the body of the frog to detach from the hooks? I just got the Texas Toad color,but haven't used it.
I just purchased one of those frogs yesterday & used it this morning for the 1st time. I had a few hits but did not get a hook into any of those fish.I did notice that I had to squeeze the water out of the frog body after every 3rd or 4th cast or the frog would sink when I cast it out.Love the action of the frog but will give it a few more trips before I decide if it was worth the $8 price tag from Walmart. {:>) GONE FISHIN……
