Frog Fishing is probably my favorite way to catch bass. You can do it in clear water or muddy water and there is just nothing like having a big bass come up and smash a frog. Over the years I have learned there are a few things that you can do while fishing a frog that will greatly help you to catch more bass on them and today I want to share those with you!

BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

  1. I watched this video before fishing this new lake today that is notorious for lilly pads. I got a frog lure and no joke on my 3rd cast I caught a 6.8lb large mouth. Great tips, they really do work. Wish YouTube let us add pics to our comments. Thanks Tyler!

  2. Funny I noticed that tends to happen when I'm using a popper. I'll twich it and feed line then twich it again, and feed more line out and the bigger bass tend to hit it.

  3. I know this isn't on topic to the video but there is a bruin reel, maybe combo you talk about a lot and I cant find it. I was wondering what it was. Love your videos. Keep up the good work

  4. Perfect timing, got a nice one yesterday and lots of blowups. Eventually lost it in the cattails but went out and bought 2! Going back out tomorrow!! Love frogging in nasty, dirty pond scum.

  5. Great Video. My son and I fish Lrg Mouth at our cabin in Wisconsin all spring/summer and fall, My son is twelve and not much interested in listening to old pop's so these Videos help out a bunch to expand his fishing skills. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

  6. Yup. I've found that as the fish are more lethargic in the heat of summer, you slow down the frog retrieve too. Give them time to decide to move. Or I throw a weightless swimbait over the top of pads to get a quick strike.

  7. nice frog tips, Tyler! Cadence is so key, like you said. This past year I have had nice success in a pressured pond using the small Jackal Keara frog in bream pattern. They really seem to like the 1….1,2 pops the most and hit on the pause. 👍

  8. I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. The Nashwaak river here has good current. What would be the best frogs for current. I have live target frogs and popping frogs

  9. Yes there is nothing like getting an explosion on a topwater Frog Lol I was missing a lot of smaller guys so I added a single 1/0 Gamakatsu weedless trailer hook no BS and I never missed another Fish and even caught the largest Bluegill I’ve ever seen Lol. Great Video my Friend stay safe and Semper Fidelis

  10. My first though on that first clip… Probably have high braid because of the frog – could have tried to yank him out of the air when he breached haha. I had a bass try and jump and throw a frog foot away from the boat once and I just leaned super far back and pulled him out of the air into the bottom of the boat. Felt like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat haha
