Fly fishing for lake run small mouth bass out of Lake Ontario. A small mouth bass rips my fly rod right out of my hands and i still manage to catch the big fish. I also have to throw my fishpond net into the air while fighting a big Smallie. I also catch my personal best smallmouth bass Wich was over 6 pounds. in this video i am swinging streamer to catch bass. streamer fishing. These bass are the hardest fighting freshwater fish.

Nice! I haven't fished western NY. Just region 7, mostly cny creeks, Oneida L tribs, Oswego R. Love the smorgasbord of fish you can catch in the spring. Do you tie or buy your flys? Thanks for the adventure!

Wow they are early! I am a little surprised especially Lake O runs deeper and is colder longer! I will miss the spring run smallies in the southern tier this year! Be well and keep feeshin!
