Testing a prototype flutter spoon, I discovered how to get the big bass on the bottom to bite even in deep open water. After finding larger fish on my fish finder, I utilize a technique I call Drop N’ Drag that mimics the shad dieoff in the winter months. I’ll explain why this technique is so productive and show exactly how to handle your rod and reel. Tackle choices are critical to success and I’ve been in the industry for nearly 30 years so can tell you in detail what works and why.
I invite you to also watch my series on using a Kastmaster Drop N’ Drag as the technique is the same except with a flutter spoon you need to make long casts and watch your line.
Here is the series of two episodes on Kastmaster Drop N’ Drag, which uses nearly the same technique but is best around structure:
Episode 1: Drop N’ Drag: Catch Huge Winter Bass Anywhere There’s Shad | Kastmaster | Part 1: Teaching – https://youtu.be/eKetHwFW9jo
Episode 2: Drop N’ Drag: Catch Huge Winter Bass Anywhere There’s Shad | Kastmaster | Part 2: Line Control is Everything & Gear Talk – https://youtu.be/Y6gcwFfXhQY

Nice 👍
Thank you for your valuable time and information.
God Bless you, Timothy
Hi Alan. What line and rod do you use for flutter spooning
what happenbs when you get a snag.
How do you know when you have a bite? Trust me, you'll know.
What lake are you fishing?
Tysm Alan and Denise.. Denise asks great questions, and Alan 's explanations are concise, clear, and sound.
What type of line and rod
What type and size line are you using for this technique?
Should I get 3.5 or 5 inch or both lol
Great Video Alan! I am definitely going to have to try this technique when fishing for stripers in the Aqueducts. Wish me luck!
Nice Video. There's some big fish cruising around under the docs when we're fishing for crappie.
Thanks Alan for all the insight into spoons and Kastmasters.
Heard you on radio about these for stripers. What size is that spoon. When available I will buy some. Good video. Thanks, George
I like the transition interludes in the vid…they grab attention and spark new interest…vids within the vid. Brilliant…hats off to your production team. That said, I wonder how many similar old a$$ spoons could be found at garage sales across the land…guessing a few, and certainly some Kastmasters too. Keep cleaning out the bottom of your tackle box and offering effective new school uses and tricks with previously dormant old school hardware, toys that are happy to once again see the light of day and elated to take another long awaited dip. Seriously though, I’m learning stuff from these remixes so please keep em coming. Thanks!
Great video Alan. Thanks for the info.
THUMBS-UP!!!!!!!!!
Great video as always! Thanks Alan for the tip! Also, I really enjoy seeing Denise in the past couple videos! You guys are awesome 👏
Been waiting for this
I've seen bass eat 6 and 7 inch flutter spoons … that spoon is definitely not too big ! That spoon has got to find it's way into my arsenal lol. Enjoyed the content and interested in using this technique ! Thanks Alan 👍!
Man that is a huge flutter spoon for bass
I'm going on Sat to Lake Berryessa for Salmon and Crappie. No fish finders on this boat unfortunately. How do you suggest we located them both ? Please note: We have your all white Gitzit with 6lb test on 1 pole and 8lb on another. We plan on salting some bait as you have suggested for the salmon.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Great video.. how do I buy 5 of those
