Fishing with Live Goldfish for Big Bass
Yep…we did this. We bought goldfish at the pet store and used them as bait for BIG, HUNGRY BASS (watch til the end to see our biggest catch!). This was a super fun video, but using goldfish as bait just felt kinda wrong. We had to try it though cause it’s something we’ve wanted to test out for awhile. Using live goldfish as bait is illegal in some states, so please look up local laws before attempting this…or better yet, just don’t try it!

Great way to destroy an ecosystem when you lose a fish. Plain stupid, pathetic tbh.
Most bait shops here in arkansas has minnows and goldfish. Most people use them on Trot-lines for catfish though.
I will say you can pass on invasive parasites and diseases and it can transfer to the native fish and wipe them out
I think red cap oranda goldfish would make good bass bait
I once was in the county jail and there was a guy for catching monster snook with goldfish. It was serious. I still want to try it.

My cousin used to fish with goldfish as it was so widely available, and his mom would plead with him to stop as she says its bad luck to mistreat these symbols of peace. Well, about 6 months after her making a big deal about it he ended up in a deadly car accident on his way fishing, there were feeder goldfish in his trunk. I'm not superstitious but hell no will I ever use goldfish like that.

I’ve always ground the lip hooking a live bait allows it to swim around a bit more, and for much longer.
It’s not really morally wrong to do this, considering these wild fish sometimes feed on smaller fish anyways, sometimes even their own fry, so don’t feel too bad. Plus those are feeder goldfish. People literally get them to feed them to their other fish or for their child’s first pet usually. The only thing I will say about doing this is that goldfish are VERY invasive in certain areas and they have the ability to survive anywhere, witch makes it possible for them to do this elsewhere too. So yea don’t try that ever again
and anyone reading this, please don’t buy these fish for fishing, use something else like a shiner or minnows 
Bro, why did you use a fancy goldfish as bait those are pets! The other ones are fine because they were feeders and were going to be feed anyway, but the fancy a little bit wrong, but whatever.

When you hook them like that I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to hit the spine cause it can paralyze them
