Fishing Mississippi River Backwater Bass Fishing

This week we head to the backwaters of the Mississippi River for some jumbo largemouth bass. The midsummer bite can be awesome if you can find those drop-offs with timber on them. You can see full show at: www.HuntFishTv.com

  1. Wish I could fish the Mississippi for bass by me. Unfortunately the river is dangerous where I'm at. To strong of currents and dredged really deep. New Orleans, Louisiana.

  2. That fish is not two pounds I promise. But it's most certainly not 5. I'd say it's in the 3 1/2 to maybe 4/12 On a good day range. It's still a nice fish.

  3. most avid bass anglers practice catch and release. The idea is to protect the resource and catch another day.Personally, I would rather eat at a restaurant I just fish for fun. However, there is nothing wrong with keeping a few legal fish to eat.If you choose to,try and take the smaller fish, around 14 inches and throw the big breeder females back. Also, keep only what you can eat dont waste.

  4. Gotta get urself a casting setup so you don't have to fight the 3lbers like they're tuna. You can fish so much faster and efficiently, use 40 lb braid with a fluro leader, and you can throw 1/8 up to 3/4 oz baits. I fish a backwater river about the same size as the one in the video here that is untouched by bass fisherman, and I get the flat bottom gamefisher into a bunch of great spots by tossing a river anchor out and have hit smallies up to 4 and LM up to 6 but I can horse em in.

  5. Decent fish, good video. The sound you hear is not the reel, it is the braided line. Also, it is not a spincast reel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you on the Mississippi ?
