Lake Kegonsa, just outside Madison, Wisconsin, is a 3,200-acre fishery known for abundant panfish, strong walleye and northern pike action, and solid bass opportunities. With an average depth of 17 feet, anglers find success along weed edges, rock bars, and drop-offs, especially during seasonal transitions. Walleyes bite well in spring and fall, pike and bass work the weeds all summer, and ice anglers target panfish and perch in winter. Multiple boat launches and Lake Kegonsa State Park make access easy, making it a year-round destination for fishermen chasing variety and trophy potential.
