You gotta try G-Ratt bladed jigs. They use an ewg hook unlike normal chatterbaits, they vibrate when reeling slowly and I feel the ewg connected to the head with a split ring ring gives them so much better action. My new favorite chatterbait.

Caught my PB in southern Minnesota weighing in at 6 pounds 09 ounces off the dock(pre spawner)!!
Your theory on bass not popping the surface is not correct. Ive seen bass roll the surface and I’ve also seen them viciously jump out of the water for no reason at all. I also happen to have one the most violent buzzbait hits I’ve ever seen on videos and in my real life on film in a tiny creek first cast of the day. This smallie smashed it so hard you can hear and see the blowup on video from 60’ away… It fought me for a good 3 minutes on 50lb braid on the medium heavy fast rod and a tatula 100 reel nust bulldogging. I couldn’t do anything anytime I gained an inch it just pulled harder. When I finally got it to the bank it made one last big run and bent my entire buzzbait straight, ripped the blade clean off and was gone in a flash. By far the wildest thing and it’s all on video.
Well good news today. I def now know fish can definitely swallow the hooks and pass them through. Maybe if they’re lucky. I caught one today that hade a white rage bug coming out like a normal movement I pulled it out and it was a hook attached to Braided Line in his throat I was able to remove the hook safely. And pull the line out of his throat. Incredible experience

I lost two jigs Sunday. One off a phantom fish who took it on the fall right near the boat. Jig just came undone. Palomar knot. Idk if my line was weak or something cause I was pulling it across wood. The little ticks in the line does that constitute for me to retie
