Fishing INCREDIBLY Clear Water For BIG BASS

These are the biggest smallmouth I’ve ever put on the boat in Northern Michigan. 6+ pound fish! They pounded down topwater walking baits in the crystal clear lake we were fishing at. I did the unthinkable and handed the rod over to our model Cassidy and started praying that she would get them in the boat. She delivered. The baits we used were topwater walking baits and tiny torpedos. 8lb and 10lb monofiliment line on medium action casting and spinning rods. My favorite reel for this type of fishing is a Diawa casting reel. They seem to cast the smaller 1/4 ounce baits so much better. Cassiday was using a medium action shimano spinning reel and rod. We had a blast and our camera man Jerry Carter did an awesome job. I can’t say enough about Jerry and his skills.
