I caught a baby bass and it’s in my 100 gallon tank now but it only eats the minnows when it swims down towards it is there any tips on getting him to eat the fish on the surface?

A week or two ago I was fishing the community pond and this guy's son catches a bluegill he asks his dad what it was and he said I think you got a tilapia. I almost died.
