Since I cant seem to catch a fish this week so I decided to go over the differences of fishing for Largemouth compared to spots. Largemouth bass and spotted bass are completely different species and behave completely different some days and others they’ll alot alike. Most lakes in NC have spots showing up except for the eastern part, so it’s important to learn the differences in fishing for the two.

  1. I love stumbling on your older videos, as a newer bass angler who grew up and lives on Lake Hickory i think i can relate to your vids the most because you fish the waters i do that's so cool

  2. Spots are so annoying, I hate that our NC lakes are full of them. Lake Gaston, my home lake, is full of them. We're concerned it will ruin the fishery. NC/VA wildlife recommends we keep all spots we catch on that lake.

  3. Are spotted bass a lesser quality fish than a Large mouth? I have a pond and its over run with green sunfish. I put some spotted in there and didnt realize it until I put them in. I kept thinking they looked slightly like a mix between a largemouth and a small mouth. Seems like the spotted have wavy lines in there face like small mouth do. Anyhow I just need the sunfish out! There are thousands of them. Even the tiny sunfish a few inches long will reproduce. Its crazy. There also likely stunted because there so many.

  4. Cool info man just started back bass fishing and I always fish Wylie. As you know we have got Kentucky’s in Wylie now. Haven’t fished seriously since about 2013 or something like that. Since this spring me and my dad have been catching spots more often than large mouth! They’re awesome little fish. I can always tell I got a spot because theykeep Diggin like a white bass, and whenever they see the boat they nose dive stripping all kinds of drag. Even a one and a half pound spot fights really well. I grew up striper fishing on wateree at cedar creek so I always thought largemouth were kinda finicky and weak fighters. Not these Kentucky bass! A friend of my fathers was told by a marine biologist to throw the throw the spotted basson the shore because they were going to take over the lake. That’s crazy. I’d much prefer catch some spots. I can for see Lake Wylie being a really good spot at Bass Lake in the near future. Again awesome video it’s helping me understand these little coked up bass as i call em’

  5. I've never actually gone for spotted myself they don't have too many where I'm from. Really awesome video man I subscribed! Come on over to my channel for some fishing videos of my own!
