Fishing During a TOTAL ECLIPSE… Then THIS Happened!

I headed out with one goal — to hunt down a bass during the total solar eclipse.

The conditions were absolutely wild, and after putting the time in, I finally hooked into a bass… but the session took a seriously unexpected turn!

Instead of just dealing with a fish, I somehow ended up catching a cormorant. It was tangled up, so I had to carefully get everything untangled and release the bird safely before getting back to the fishing.

And then, as if that wasn’t enough…

I SNAPPED MY WYCHWOOD LRs AGITATOR SPINNING ROD!

What started as an eclipse bass fishing session turned into one of the most chaotic fishing trips I’ve ever had.

From chasing bass during a once-in-a-lifetime eclipse, to an unexpected cormorant rescue, to breaking my spinning rod — this one definitely didn’t go to plan!
