Fishing BIG BAITS on a World Famous Lake! (Day 1 on Lake Chickamauga)

THIS EPISODE IS DAY 1 of 4 on LAKE CHICKAMAUGA (May 10th-14th, 2023)

Shmike and I head to Tennessee to fish a world famous bass fishing lake for 10-14 hours a day, rain or shine, for 4 days straight. We are in search of abnormally large mouthed bass. Throughout the series I continuously use Mike Bucca’s Shad Glide to help me locate fish; in this episode I throw it more than any other day in the series. With the fish that it catches and the follows it creates on this day, it really allowed me to understand where the fish were staging and hanging out, and as you will see in upcoming episodes this was key to our success for the rest of the trip.. As the title clearly gives away, the lake we are fishing is Chickamauga Lake. I am lucky enough to still have family that lives around the awesome lakes I so often love to fish in Tennessee. In this series we will be staying at my Uncle Josh’s house who lives about 30 minutes from the Lake. My goal in this video was to get a feel for how the lake was fishing and to locate some fish. I knew it would be a struggle so I kept the Glide in my hand for most of the day, trying to move fish so I could at least get eyes on them. We didn’t just smash fish in this one but the fish we did catch were quality and in very unique ways. However in the parts 2-4 we absolutely hammer fish so make sure you check those out as well. Throughout the whole series my goal is to break down how we fished and what we did to adjust in order to find fish consistently. None of us had fished in a long time and had limited information on how the lake was fishing at the time, because of this I only expected it to get better as the days passed. I was certainly correct, which means You don’t want to miss the next couple episodes of this series because we catch multiple 5lb fish and I catch one of the biggest bass of my life weighing in close to 8lbs. We are trying to improve our quality of content significantly over the next couple months starting with this series so I really hope you enjoy it.
