Its Frozen solid! Its 21 degrees but Matt and Tim are back on the water for some Winter bass fishing. Come along for a frozen day on Chickamauga as the guys put together a really nice bag of fish. They’re throwing reaction baits despite the frigid temperatures and its working!
Winter fishing doesn’t have to be boring. The guys were faced with brutal post-front, frozen conditions but were able to power through it with a blade bait and an Alabama Rig. If you’re willing to cover water and build patterns, Winter fishing can be a blast! The lakes are peaceful, the fish are big, and when you put the right reaction baits in front of them, they’re aggressive!
Below you’ll find links to all the baits used in the videos. We included the colors we were using as well as the hook and hardware upgrades we made to help our hookup ratios in the cold water. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

#Winter #Bassfishing #Chickamauga
Fishing the Chick on Tuesday, 2/15, with my oldest son. Dropping in to Jack's Bait and Tackle (driving up from Lafayette, GA). After picking the brains of the folks at Jack's, then drive on to the launch at HB State Park. Put in the Ranger RT188 and spend our time working Harrison Bay, inlets in that area and around Patten Island. Planning to throw A-Rigs with Keitech swimbait trailers, lipless crankbaits (colors?), chatterbaits, swimbaits, etc. Any suggestions on "must throw" lures? Thanks.
I am a stickler for revisiting your videos. Especially when they pertain to my next fishing trip. Heading out to Tennessee this February from So Cal. I’m getting hyped. For me, there’s nothing better than a freezing day, bundled up, on a beautiful Tennessee lake with my California X-pat buddy of 25 years, basically alone, catching piles of bass in the dead of winter! I owe it all to you guys. 5 years ago I’d never think that I could go south, in the winter, fish s local tournament and win, come in second, or, take home biggest smallmouth of the year ( 5lbs on Center Hill )! Cali guy, winning in Tennessee, WHAT? Yep. You have helped me piss off more good ole boys than you know! Instead of dirty looks years ago, now, a hand shake and a smile. Of course I take my winnings and meet the boys at the Moose Lodge, buy rounds for everyone and what’s left over goes to my buddies boat for upgrades! You guys are stellar! And, Matt, I to am a girls dad. Something very special there. Cheers boys, and thank you so much!
Ya'll have become my favorite YouTube channel. Keep the content coming guys.
so when are you guys gonna do tournaments? even small local ones! you learn new stuff.. we learn new stuff..
Welcome to my neck of the woods!!
Like I went ice fishing two weeks ago and the ice where I live is like almost a foot thick 🤣🤣
👍👊 nice job boys!!!
Come out and fish fort loudon dam! Let us locals know what yall think, I know winter isn’t the greatest but still fun none the less
Always enjoy your videos. It's awesome to see you two fishing different lakes!
Always entertaining and educational. You guys should have a TV show.
I live in NJ and getting my first bass boat in 3 weeks. How do you protect the motor after fishing below 30 degrees?
i swear yall cast extra far
Chill video & tips!
How numb are y'all's hands right now? 🥶
You guys need to head to Melton Hill and chase some musky!
You could see the twmp change in the equipment throughout the video. I never thought of fishing shade in the winter. Always looked for sun and cover.
My top 6 biggest bass have come when the air temp was below freezing
Do you guys have plans of fishing Douglas Lake this year? It’s only a couple hour drive from where you guys are at! It would be awesome to see what you guys can catch out here! Love the videos and info!
Tactical y’all need to try BFS for ultra light combos
Question,,,
Just got 2 SLX MGL reels for lighter baits 1/8 to 3/8 to eliminate useing spinning reels. What rod you reccomend between 200 and 250$$ Loomis e6 ,7ft1 medium
Or dobyns 7ft3 champion med to med heavy. Thanks
I wish I could subscribe 30 times. You guys are awesome.
It is a stripper
My favorite channel. I hope you guys consider loading your videos to another platform due to Google going full cancel culture. I'll be spending a lot less time here going forward.
I see that you both are now leaving the snaps ON the rig. From what I've seen, you had been cutting them off and replacing with hyper wire split rings.
20s here in VT with low 30s water temps, still catching em🤘🤙
Link that cold weather gear.
If you didn't have eyelids you'd chill in the shade too lol
Tim still sounds sick 😷 nice to see you outside
My theory on the cold water shade is that the bass have more sensitive eyes so they need that shade to let their eyes get a break from the sun. Great catches man. Can I use straight 20 pound Pline Floroclear for an A-rig. I've lost one already due to a bad knot. Please help.
I was waiting for the Tactical cold water crank. I'm addicted to it.
Great videos wish I had open water here in Michigan lol
Plz fish lake Lanier
O I have to go to a specialist for a spot under my skin.
Nice one tim what happened to all of mats hair.my wife said he cut his hair and trimmed up
I was out in Harrison bay this same day. Didnt even get a bite . I need some blade baits
I absolutely love the continuing educational videos you guys put out, watching you guys and a few other channels/forums helps me keep more irons in the fire and refine more techniques than I could do by my lonesome, that being said I also love the long-form "what happens happens" 3 hour videos like you guys did on the great lakes, or this sort of thing where your mostly just letting us watch you apply the things you discuss in other videos, equal parts education and entertainment, keep doing your thing guys, you make the terrible work days just a bit more tolerable!
I sure wish we had open water but I'll be ice fishing on Sunday
