Fishing a Pond for Bass: Strike King Swim Jig and Swimbait

One of my favorite ways to test new lures (and get confidence in them) is to go to a small pond and fish them. In this adventure I’m joined by a subscriber and friend of mine, Trae Crabtree. Join us as we tackle a pond that he knew about, but hadn’t been to in a long time. Let me know what you think of the video below and please SUBSCRIBE!

  1. Iโ€™ve just bought a few of the 1/4 ounce swinging swim jigs.
The lakes I fish are in NW Florida clear and a lot of blue Gill . Grass & stumps. Question what would be a good trailer?
Ps. I love your content and the way you approach the info. Thank you for your time!!

  2. Dang I was waiting for you to turn around and say โ€œI AM TRYING TO GIVE THESE PEOPLE A TACKLE TIPโ€ hahaha but that was crazy 8 hits back to back to back like that.

  3. Andrew, thanks for doing a bank fishing video. That was fun for me since I dont own a boat. If Trae would have used a thunder cricket instead of a chatterbait he probably would have caught the bigger bass next to this one. Lol.

  4. Now, in the Big Sky you have to get a fish ON THE BANK to count it. Nice try, though. Better bring extra chatter baits. I hate snags. Looks like 6+ to me. I know a scary hole on the Yellowstone River where unfished for smallies congregate to pig out. Not very boat friendly water, though.

  5. Hey Andrew! Was wondering if you used a 3/0 or 4/0 for the 1/8 oz belly blade? Just wanted to see what fit better and I have not used them before!

  6. Iโ€™m not a fan of the swing head things… I could be wrong, but when the lure can twist or move in their mouth, I seem to not get hooked up good and lose way more fish. Iโ€™m not anywhere near the fisherman you are, but if I was losing that many bites, Iโ€™d change something! Either your losing fish ended when you lost that swing head and started using a direct connected hook, or you just got tired of showing us the lost ones! Good stuff Andrew!

  7. Man where is this pond at?! I gotta come steal your spot man…lol. I'm from Jersey but I'd take the drive for a bite like that! Great video man I'm really liking your channel I'm sure your gonna have a ton of new subscribers piling in
