Fishing a MICRO Spinner for MICRO Creek Bass

Went out to fish the creek at my local greenway and wanted to see how the Booyah Bait Micro pond spinner would do for the Redeye Coosa bass.

  1. I would agree with you about Fishing Channel and Outdoor Channel doing shows like this video! HOWEVER….If they WERE to do that, your channel would not be as special and enjoyable as it is!

  2. Do you said you don’t work you just fish and edit… that’s exactly what I want to do. Love your channel been a watcher for a while but just now subscribed. I have a similar channel but I hunt and do som bigger fishing as well. Awesome content tho

  3. Caught some Coosa bass before I even knew what they were called. Hiked into the Conasauga wilderness to camp and fished up the Jacks river in 1980 with spinning tackle using trout lures and crickets. I'd never been up there and the first day we hiked up towards the falls and I kept catching these fish which were obviously bass but the undersides were real bluish tinted and they had red eyes and the ones I caught were about 8-10 inches. Years later I learned they were indeed a separate species of bass. Caught a lot of trout that trip as well…all native fish in the 7-9 inch range for the most part. One brown trout was caught right before complete dark on our first night about a mile and a half below the falls…it was over 17 inches, but long and skinny like a snake. It was summer and one day a lightning storm was working up on the mountain about 5pm and when those trout felt the thunder vibrations they went into feeding mode and I caught and released 35 by 8pm to add to the dozen I'd caught from dawn til 5…best trout day I ever had. And man they fought hard…all full finned…not like hatchery reared trout…and oh so pretty! I have no idea if the fishing is still good up there, but it would be cool if you took a 2 or three day camning trip in there on the Jacks and filmed it. I went three times and always did well…went once in June…once in July and once in mid September. Tried the Conasauga up in the wilderness area twice but didn't do near as well.

  4. John, keep a journal. Year to year you can compare how the creek or river conditions are, and how the fishing was, at that time of year. How about the name or website for the person who makes those rods in your community? Have a great day, tight lines.

  5. That has to be a great feeling meeting subscribers knowing those are not only people that enjoy your fishing, they are also the very people that you are witnessing to about Christ. Certainly there has to be some people who you have directed to Christ through this ministry. Thats awesome. Oh, the pond magic is a great lure! The white bass love them too!

  6. Hey John. I was just wondering if you have barbless hooks in the US ? I find that barbless hooks are much easier to remove from the fish and cause a lot less damage, especially on smaller fish. Most catch and release waters over here in the UK, particularly trout fisheries, have a barbless only rule.

  7. Pretty sure I was fishing over there on the same day up near the playground! I talked to that same guy in the blue shorts with his lady friend earlier in the day. Bummer that I didn’t actually run into you! Hope to make that happen one day. The green way trail is fun fishing!
