🎣 Live baiting offshore is one of my favourite ways to target big fish, but this trip took a turn I never expected…

After heading miles offshore to fish some deep wrecks, the plan was simple: catch some live bait and target bass, cod and pollock. The conditions were perfect, with flat calm seas and baitfish everywhere. Although the fishing proved tougher than expected, I still managed to land a cracking pollock on live bait.

But the biggest surprise of the day wasn’t the fishing…

Whilst offshore, I was stopped by Fisheries Patrol for a routine inspection – something you don’t often see from the angler’s perspective. Join me as I take you through the full day, from catching live bait to fishing the wrecks, and the unexpected visit from the patrol boat.
