I love parrot cichlids they’re so cute
Picking up fish with your hands, damages fish's slime coat. The oils in our hands actually burns them. I have seen fish with algal infections in the shape of a person's hand, as fungus is able to cause an infections cos their slime coat gets compromised. If you must pick up a fish, use a clean wet rag that hasn't been washed in detergent. That you have rinsed out well.

Red belly pacu and Jack Dempsey are great fish to live with the arowana. Just make sure they are large enough.
