What’s up everybody!

Went out and fished a bass fishing tournament not this past weekend, but the weekend before last. This was on January 20th, 2024. The tournament was fished from my pelican bass raider, but any jon boats, kayaks, or small vessels could’ve been used. The day was better than I expected amongst cold conditions and rough northern wind. The males were all over beds it seemed or in areas nearby. From what I could tell from side scan, there were several beds in the area, especially around the isolated cattails. some beds here and there amongst piles of brush with mixtures of vegetation including cattails and other “green” cover. They were definitely holding close to the isolated areas. some would strike but were very slow.

The goal for the day was to fish as slow as possible as I knew the temp changes were going to be drastic. We started out at 59 degree water temps and saw nearly 65 degree water temps towards the end of the day. I noticed the bite was harder to come by the later it got.

All in all, the day turned out great and we were able to secure a top 3 position. Hopefully we can continue this streak in the near future. Stay tuned for more fishing videos! Thanks for watching!
