Technically this isn’t the FIRST tournament in the new jon boat – but the first one with any decent catches. I fished one prior to this with my good buddy James, and we unfortunately zeroed.
Gotta give my boy James some love for showing up though after Ace had to take care of a family emergency. Called him at 4am on tournament day and told him he had to leave right now, and he did so big thanks to James.
We didn’t have any crazy weight, or a ton of catches, but caught 5 on a tough day. I also broke 2 fish off that would’ve completed our limit, and that just goes to show the importance of fishing clean. Check your knots, your drag, hooks, pay attention to what’s going on and don’t let your guard down. Every bite counts sometimes.
We have 2 more regular season tournaments before the classic, hoping they go well and that you’re looking forward to them!

I have a small 15' Astro glass boat. Even trimmed all the way down it was slow getting in plane. Added a small Hydrofoil thingy to the motor and wow what a difference. Bow stays down and jumps out of the hole.

Great day to celebrate, you got your new boat up and running , I just got the total on what my boat repair costs and it's kinda funny. It was 986.00 when it was all said and done.
