When you do a water change do not feed the fish first
Cool video. I caught 2 baby bass identical to yours from the lake recently and put in my cichlid tank. There are lake bluegill in it, too. Oddly, the tiny 2 inch Panda Barb is relentlessly attacking the bass and the bass wont fight back, despite being double it's size. What to do?
Do you think I can just have one baby bass because I have a 20 gallon
I have a pet bass approximately 6-7 inches and I can not get him to eat. Wonβt take night crawlers, minnows etc. any advice from you Jon or anyone is much appreciated
How they doin bro? I got a 3000 gallon pool pond with 12 lol
Keep an eye on their size in relation to each other, I did this once and had one that grew larger/faster than the others and she ended up eating all the others one day while I was at work. They all had plenty of food and ate well but she grew a lot faster.
Yo add a craw and see if theyβll eat it when they get bigger or if they will look at him as a friend
If the plants come off the wood you can actually super glue them to it. completely safe as long as apply and let dry out of the water.
Don't overdo it on the beef heart. This much will spike ammonia and nitrite
you could do hyponic and grow some greens, but i think you use tilapia or carp for that, i cannot remember so goggle it
Lucky day for you
If you donβt mind getting ur hands dirty, leaving out buckets of water and collecting mosquito larvae is a great way to feed them.
you gonna go broke if you dont get back to fishing vids bro
I love how much research you put in this. So many people don't put in the research. I think you started on a good note. Bass are hardy fish and so fun to have in tanks.
Awesome
NIce Project, tank looks real good.
Iβd recommend some annibius and Java moss
Good to see you added live plants to break down ammonia and nitrites
ALL professional fish keepers its your time to SHINE! LOLOLOL
Nice thumbnail π
Slap some lime in your pond. Its a two part powder where it turns to a goo and they use it on leaky ponds. Look into it and maybe give it a shot. Also speaking about resilient bass. Flair had that mini pond that he couldnβt find that bass until after We had that huge freeze in the Midwest. The bass survived without being fed by flair and a huge layer of ice on top. Good luck
So for the nitrogen cycle, u want good bacteria to build up, it builds up on ur filter media and substrait and on decorations, would definitely research the nitrogen cycle. Also for the gravel vac for cleaning ur tank, look up Aquarium Co-op, he has a very good video for how to use them, I will find what it's called
Get some frozen blood worm or live black worms
I'm sorry but this video is boring! Its not that difficult to raise Large mouth bass in a aquarium. You should have an aquarium that's 50 gallons or bigger and keep low numbers of fish in your aquarium.
I've done all this before in Orange County California, the bass and bluegill and catfish came from ponds at Mile Square park back in the 70's when I was in High School!
watch Dustin Fish tanks..
If u keep them in the water to long they might drown so make sure u take them on walks every other day!
You can superglue the plants to the driftwood to hold them in place. It's non-toxic to the fish
Looking forward to this series! Well played Sir!
Really cool watching those young game fish. Interesting video, and extremely interesting comments. Wow. There's a lot to it. Nitrates and nitrites. Definitely need to do some homework before tackling something like this.
Awesome Job,now don't forget to also get plant food. You should add a carpet of Staurogyne Repens
What I would recommend is daphnias bc 1) they are good for juvi fishes 2) high in protein and 3) they reproduce very quickly but takes time to get a good healthy culture and unlimited food for baby fishes.
The mysterious and rare sighting of the feeding baby Bass πππ ok I think we went a little far on that one Jon ππππ π£π―π€
My aunt has a 3 pounder had em since a fry he only eats pellets π€¦π½ββοΈ
Jon I love what youβre doing for these fish but here are some tips from an experienced fish keeper first your hair grass grows best when itβs in the substrate of your tank and will carpet the bottom of the tank second the other plant you have it itβs an Amazon sword I would rec you put some fertilizer pellets in the soil to help it grow bec they need a ton of nutrients and even more than the fish can produce bec you used and inert substrate I made the same mistake when I started
Good luck and happy fish keeping
Hey I was just wondering if you lived anywhere near maple springs tx or paris tx?
I hope you didn't suck the water but if you did post a short of it
Howβs the pond doing
Need to change my tank water π
Make sure to watch out for a certain parasitic worm. They usually live in the gravel.
FYI I believe the difference between the two brine shrimp is that one is vegetarian (spirulina)
Jon look up how to use a gravel vac π€¦π½ββοΈ
βLooks like the Weiner pump from Austin Powersβπ
They looking healthy!
