My good friend Matt and I drove out to the Catawba River early in the morning to check out the place and to see if we can catch river bass! We fished the dam and threw out paddle tail swimbaits into the swift and fast current and hoped that a nice bass would take our bait.
I used a 3.75 inch Strike King Rage Swimmer in Pearl Flash on a 3/8th oz swimbait jig head tied on 10 pound Matzuo monofilament spooled to a Daiwa Tatula SV 7.3 Reel on a Dobyns Rods Fury 703 medium heavy rod.
