FALL Kayak BASS Fishing: Catch Them in COLD Weather!

Join me, Marco from SLBASSIN, for an epic kayak fishing adventure on one of my favorite rivers in Illinois—the Des Plaines River!

The temperatures are dropping, and the water is in the mid-to-high 50s, but that didn’t stop us from catching some solid largemouth and smallmouth bass! I’m out here in my Native Watercraft Slayer Max 10, targeting key structures like laydowns, brush piles, and timber to find these fish even as the cold sets in. One of my “secrets” to fishing murky/stained water is the Spike It Dip-N-Glow as it helps give your soft baits some added visibility and garlic scent.

The baits that really did the trick today were the Bass Puzzle Grass Piece and Beast Coast Fishing Battle Jig, along with the Lil’ Magnum Jig. Even though kayak bass fishing season is winding down, I’m hoping to squeeze in a few more trips before the year ends.
