Fall Bass Fishing with a Texas Rig Keitech Swimbait (Skeletor Park)

Today we are doing some fall bass fishing with a Texas rig Keitech Swimbait at Skeletor Park. The weather is finally cooling off and the shad are migrating toward the creeks. This is a good time to try a swimbait. I like to Texas Rig my swimbaits so I can pull them through the weeds, work the bottom, and even slow roll them. The added weight also helps with casting when distance is an issue. After finally catching a bass on the Keitech I change my lure to a Gulp Minnow to try and catch another fish before leaving. I manage to catch a bluegill which is enough for me. #fishing #bassfishing

  1. Hey Alex, I subscribe to many YouTube fishing channels, but your's is one of the ones I can most relate to since you're primarily a bank fisherman. Your experiences are very relateable to me. I don't think I've ever seen you fish a buzz bait before. Is this something you would consider showing your viewers one day? Keep it real.

  2. Got skunked for the first time last week since I started fishing.I mean I went on like 10 fishing trips in a row and caught a lot of fish.some big and some small but fish non the less.getting skunked the other day brought me back to reality and humbled me.Made me remember that not everyone catches fish everytime. And also to be thankful for every fish i catch no matter the size.Good video Sir.Stay blessed

  3. I like that you show every cast even though you didn’t catch anything on them. A lot of these channels just show the ones they caught a fish on, makes it seem like they are catching fish left and right.

  4. I’ve been skunked 🦨 twice on my last two fishing sessions. Good day of fishing bad day of catching 😭. Hopefully this weekend I can get it going again. 🤞

  5. All I'm getting is bass hung very very tight to cover in about 5 -8 feet of water. Temp @ 72. Worm won me 2nd place @ local torny this week. Don't knock the worm during the fall transition, 2 weeks ago it was all about the reaction, now you got to drop it on their faces but worms will get it done, just slower.

  6. Haha! "I got one. Yes! I can finally go home!"

This sums up the last three weekends of fishing for me, here in Vermont! I refuse to leave without catching A fish. I've always used nightcrawlers, since 1984, but, after seeing your videos, I decided to give lures a try. I've had good luck with whacky-rigged Senkos, Texas-rigged Dingers, and Creme Scoundrels on a shaky head. But, in the last three weeks, I have caught one bass on a lure, and everything else on nightcrawlers. During the previous two weekends, my biggest fish was a five-inch perch.

I have thrown into lily pads, hydrilla, moss, and rocks; I've cast into submerged logs, under overhanging trees, into river bends and currents. I've not caught a decent fish since the middle of August! I have never been skunked because I refuse to leave without catching A fish. Sunday before last, my one fish was a three-inch pumpkinseed, which took me five hours to catch–with a nightcrawler!

I love your videos! Keep it realistic!

  7. Do you ever peg your swimbait? I peg my speed worm if I'm fishing near or thru vegetation. I caught a solid 3 and a half pound Largemouth on the speed worm yesterday……..My favorite go to bait is officially the speed worm.

  8. That's why it's called fishing and not catching. I have been looking to buy a new flipping rod but when I check out the prices it's just not REALISTIC at all. The price of some of those rods and reels could set you back almost $300

  9. Nice Bass on that Keitech. I don't have much luck with those but probably not patient enough. Too bad about those weeds. Really limits fishing off the bank. Enjoyed the video. Fish on!

  10. I also hate going home unless I catch a fish first. One time I spent 3 weeks living in a cardboard box under a bridge down by the river until I caught a fish. I can't say it was fun but on the bright side I did loose a lot of weight. Now get out there and catch some fish guy's and don't dare come home until you do 😊

  11. I was just down that way during labor day weekend fishing the Cumberland river. It was a very nice time but way tough fishing with all the boats and ectreme heat. Also hit the Percy priest dam for a bit.
