Fall Bass Fishing With a Double Fluke Rig! New Lure Challenge

This New Lure Challenge is my first time bass fishing with a double Fluke Rig. Its fall and I’m using the Double Fluke Rig to mimic shad. After going through the setup step by step, I try my luck bass fishing at two locations. The first spot doesn’t produce anything, but the second location held a great surprise. Not only did I catch a nice largemouth bass, I also had a bonus catch! If you are up for a challenge, maybe try a double fluke rig next time you are out for some fall bass fishing.

  1. So am I the only one that missed whatever he did to keep the top fluke higher than the bottom. The top swivel was free to move up or down the line. So what did you do to stop that itโ€™s not in the video?

  2. It's been quite a while since this video was published but I would like to make a comment on my experience with a package of Zoom plastic fishing worms. In the package, they look very much like the Culprit worms which are my favorites and are more expensive. On opening my first package of Zoom Worms, 2 days go, and threading the worm on the hook, I found it to be much denser and harder than the Culprit worm which is a fairly soft plastic worm. It was so much tougher that I took it off the hook and will never try another Zoom worm knowing that I would miss many hookups. Culprit worms are so soft that it is not terribly unusual for short hits to result in the tail being bitten off. However, the bodies of Culprit worms seem to stand up to catching several fish. Where I fish, the bass are very tentative. I missed a large number of bass on this pond the first couple of years because I didn't even recognize a bite. The tap tap tap that I was used to rarely occurs. There are basically two ways to sense a bite on my pond, the most common is a feeling of weight on your line and the other is the line traveling in a direction other than the direction you would expect it to travel. The direction can be anywhere from to the right, to the left, or straight toward you. When it is away from you, that's when you feel the weight or pull on the line change from that produced by your soft bait. Most of the hookups are at or near the lip of the fish. That means it has to be very easy to pull the hook through the worm to set it. So, this is not an invective against Zoom worms. It is only meant to be a discussion of when and where your softbait needs to be very soft as opposed to when a harder, tougher soft bait will work. Note: Senkos work great on this pond. Short, thick soft baits get plenty of bites but end in many failed hookups. In closing, the soft bait you choose must match your fishing conditions, whatever they are.

  3. Love that rig. When the bait fish are moving. I rip it fast. For that reaction bite. And they smash it. Sometimes I'll let it sink to the bottom in deep areas and jerk it like that. Slow. Works great

  4. I tried this a few times while I was in Texas and never had much luck. They call it the donkey rig. Personally I feel they call it the "donkey" rig because you start feeling like a jack-ass after not catching fish for the first hour..LOL but thats just me

  5. Dude. The anti-reverse is just a bearing. Had the same thing happen with a Pflueger on me. Took it apart, cleaned and greased that bearing and it works like a charm.

Or, if ya just don't want to fuss with it…I know someone that will. Hint…hint!

  6. This was very a educational video for me. Btw just subscribed to your channel. But in the last two weeks Iโ€™ve watched just about every video youโ€™ve made. Lol well at least half. Really diggin the show. Keep it up!!

  7. My grandparents live down the road from there so Iโ€™ve fished there one hell of a lot in years past, Iโ€™ve only caught a few dinkโ€™s and some bream by the dock and fished the whole cove best I could but that still it
