I fish the big river in central PA Ned’s do not stand up in current, the current knocks them over . Test them in shallow water .
Excellent.
great video
I have had good results with jigs poured off the DO-IT Finesse Weedless Midwest Jig Mold. I almost prefer it to standard Ned heads because I lose less of them. A local bait shop pours them or EBay has them. I agree TRD and Boosa are both decent, but TRD shines.
Waiting on my Ned mold to come in..do-it-molds is quality stuff.
NATHAN THANKS BRO!!!!!!!!!
Nice video…where is that water you are throwing in?…looks familiar.
Trick #1 – Loop knot those jigs, this allow the tail to always stand up and removes any mechanical advantage the line length may have on the presentation. Trick #2 – use an orthopedic rubber band on the hook to prevent the bait slipping down the hook. This trick works on ALL hook types/ jigs using a rubber trailer or bait!
loving your channel!! Very good information, appreciate the details!
How often do you have to re-tie a leader. I know I’m breaking them off a few times a trip.
So you mentioned we want a long rod.. is the 6 10 the one to get?
Happy to see you like that Ned rod. I will be placing a sizeable order at Cashion next week and I have had my eyes on that ned rod.
Nathan. I have been slamming them with the Finesse TRD in the red color lately including 2 that were close to 4 lbs.! Dragging it has done nothing for me, my fish are reactionary and, they only respond to small hops and an occasional stroking. Here's a challenge for you, invent something that keeps the hook EYE from grabbing grass 90% of the casts! It's not the open hook that grabs the grass at my place, it's the hook eye because it's the first thing to make contact with grass when you do drag the Ned Rig. I can't tell you how much time I spend cleaning that grass off of my bait and, how much colder my hands get in the Winter. A weedless presentation isn't the answer because, it's not the hook point that's grabbing the grass. Maybe some sort of plow setup like you see on trains built around the eye so grass just peels off or something. I don't have a single rocky bottom lake around here and while I appreciate having a grassy, matted bottom lake, it's tough getting hung so often. Snapping it out of that grass does get me bit though!!
