Early Season Back Bay Fishing: White Perch Catch & Cook in NJ

New Jersey’s backbays offer the first chance at early-season fishing, with striped bass and white perch as the main targets. Despite cold March waters and a tough bite, the challenge is what makes it exciting. In this video, I make the most of my catch and cook a white perch into a tasty quesadilla.

  1. Another awesome video Sam! I’ve been skunked so far in the early season, but hopefully picking up soon. I don’t know how good you are with cleaning fish, but I think you’d make an awesome tutorial on how to do it! Thanks for the best fishing content in Jersey!

  2. Yes Sam!!! Welcome back. Dude you definitely did sone serious upgrades in the off season! Drone, external mic. This video was absolutely awesome. With the fog and everything it looked amazing. Super high quality content as always and the hard work definitely comes through man! 🙌
Also perchadilla looked great! I’ve never had perch before

  3. Great to see Sam is back. Heading down from Pa to the OCNJ area this weekend to do some back bay fishing. Still learning the in's and outs of saltwater fishing by watching Sam's videos. Very good teacher.

  4. Hello, thank you so much for using the sabiki. I love the technique.
How do I properly use the sabiki in shallow water at the beach? With the tides, it's not easy to see the water level, sometimes 50 cm at the feet.

  5. Love the channel. I met you at the fishing expo at the ship bottom firehouse in the fall, we talked about hey dudes lol… That's my duck hunting spot glad to see there's fish there too 🤙
