Early March Bass Fishing (W Central Missouri)

In this 2 March 2025 excursion to Howard County, Missouri, the primary objective was crappie fishing. Perhaps due to the time of day or the 43 degree water temp, no crappie were caught. However, there were nice bass lurking near the bank in about 5-10 feet of water. A Z-Man Shad FryZ in Purple Death color worked really well. Largest fish of the day was a 20+ inch bass (circa 6 lb) that provided a really enjoyable tussle on an Ultralite outfit with 6 lb line. Many thanks to my Host, Mr. Tom, Owner and Caretaker of the Due Lago Resort and Kennel. Rudie has a nice cameo and thought it was a good idea to (finally) go fishing after what seemed like an endless, snowy, icy winter. Enjoy the show!
