Whenever I fish a pressured body of water, this is the first thing I do!

Fishing highly pressured bodies of water can be difficult and while most people will automatically downsize their lures, I have found this to be better.

Tyler, come to South Africa. We have MANY dams that have no pressure from fishermen.
You make a good point Tyler except where I'm from in California its hard to be different haha
Honestly, I just use old tried and true, the inline spinners. Lots of people think it’s weird that it’s all I fish with but I do it for a solid reason. Everywhere I go people fish with worms, jigs, frogs, poppers or rapala’s So I give fish something different! I caught 4 salmon this October on rooster tail between 22lbs – 15lbs, I caught 9 trout since from 15-31 inches all on rooster tails my 31 inch trout was just shy of 11lbs. Everybody was wondering how I caught them but I wasn’t going to tell them that the entire stream was fishing the same exact jigs 😂.
Earlier this year I bought some of the Rooster Tail with the old school safety-pin style spinner bait and the new Mepps Bronze Slammer (large) inline spinnerbait. My grandsons and I caught more bass on these two lure types than with all Chatterbaits (original & Jackhammer). Also, costs a lot less than Jackhammer so when the boys lost one or two, it didn't hurt the wallet as hard. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tip!
For that reason I quit fishing lakes and started looking for creeks that no fishes and have caught double digit bass.Sometimes I have to hike a little but it’s worth the hike. I love your videos dude and have learned a lot to help me catch a lot of bass.
Good topic Tyler, couple days ago I ordered a bunch of 7” senkos to show the fish something different from everyone else
I've primarily been throwing big swimbaits since the virus run everybody and their grandma to the lakes here in Georgia.
I keep trying those big swimbaits,( magdraft, chad shad) and I can’t get the bites. I’ve caught some fish, but I haven’t found the time and conditions. My primary lake is mostly largemouths, with a good population on 2-4 pounders. I will keep trying. Funny, I can throw a big squarebill and load the boat at times.
Fished Chickamauga Sunday and bought a Spro Chad Shad to throw there, like a dummy I didn't even tie it on , was getting bit bottom strolling and a jerkbait , wondering if I would have caught bigger bass with the Chad shad , hopefully going back in the next couple weeks to try and get my moneys worth lol
Tyler…you should do a Lake break on Walborn Reservoir…. It’s 9.9 and under but has produced 20 pound bags…. It’s tough but has giants in it.
Tyler Berg when did you become so corrupt. 🤔
Wow, never thought of it like that … thank you Sir! I'm gonna keep that in my arsenal for sure.
Great tip Tyler will have to give it a try come spring
I’ll let you know on all three in March 😁
I fish off the bank mostly use a wacky rig and if there are no bites I then switch to a ned rig, I have been debating on throwing a bigger bait like googans trench hog maybe it will give me a big bass…. thoughts??
I fished a pond with my son. I was using wacky worms and not doing well. He tied on an old rooster tail and kicked my fanny. I agree to fish something different and not follow the norm. I appreciate you doing what you do.
Bass bite when they are hungry or you annoy them enough. It's all timing. If you're there when they are hungry, the lure you're using will be "the ticket." and you'll think it's the greatest bait. You just happened to be there when they were hungry. Timing is everything. Or, you used a bait that annoyed the fish into biting even though he/she isn't hungry. I've caught way more bass snapping a Finesse TRD off the bottom and angering the fish than I have subtly dragging it.
The other day I went to a small lake that is highly pressured. So ofcourse I downsized after hours of no bites and still nothing.. but I noticed that everyone was throwing small baits, so I tied on a Berkley cull shad, and boom! Caught my only fish of the day!
How would you up size in the winter? Would you still throw a big worm in the winter or like you mentioned big swim bait?
