Did Milliken Fishing Knowingly CHEAT!!?? NEW UPDATE!

Ben Milliken of Milliken Fishing was Arrested for Fishing Tournament Fraud!!??

Milliken, 35, of New Caney, surrendered on the misdemeanor charge Thursday and was released quickly from the Nacogdoches County jail.

In February, Milliken caught a Legacy Class ShareLunker largemouth bass at Lake Naconiche and falsified his contest entry form, Texas Parks & Wildlife officials said.

“During the due diligence process this fall, prior to distributing program prizes at the Toyota ShareLunker Banquet, it was discovered that Milliken did not have a valid fishing license at the time the fish was caught and knowingly falsified the contest/tournament entry form,” Maggie Berger, spokesman for Texas Parks & Wildlife, said in an email.

  1. This is from Ben <By now, some of you have heard of recent legal issue I’m facing for an incident last February. This issue is due to a complete misunderstanding and unrelated to any Elite Series or local fishing tournament I’ve participated in.

In fact, the incident arose while I was recreationally fishing. And not in a tournament at all. I very much look forward to creating a video(s) explaining this entire situation. But due to ongoing investigation, it’s best I wait.

In the meantime, I’m going to continue working seven days a week to film and produce the best fishing content possible to help spread my love of the outdoors and promote the sport of fishing to as many people as possible. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.”

  2. I don't see any way around him knowing what he did was wrong. He either figured out after he caught the fish and bought a license immediately and then turned it in, or he turned in the share lunker entry then realized he did not have a license and bought one. I see no way he did this without knowing it. And if that is the case, then he has no excuse, and should receive whatever punishment is appropriate. One thing is, there is no way it was an honest mistake. If it was an honest mistake, he would have told them (whoever is in charge of the share lunker program).

  3. I've asked before. after he realized he didn't have a license, did he notify Sharelunker that he was not eligible for any prizes. If he didn't and still hoped to cash in, he is in big trouble.

  4. I hope they don't ban him from fishing tournaments. That's just over the top too much. He wasn't fishing in a tournament. He was recreational fishing. It's not like the dude dropped a bunch of lead weights down the fishes gut during a tournament so it weighs more. I don't know what I would do if they banned me from tournament fishing and that was my bread and butter. These charges are absolutely asinine. Hopefully judge will see this and understand. It was a simple mistake and just give him a negligence charge!

  5. It's crazy that these migrants can go and punch and jump NYC police officers in broad daylight and get let go, but then they're gonna throw the book out of fisherman for forgetting to renew his license. Just crazy.
