Episode 2 – The Hawk is Out!

In preparation for the Kayak Anglers vs North Jersey Kayak Bass Fishing Club’s Delaware River Summer Showdown I was able to take accomplished bass angler and local Jersey Shore hammer John Hawksby out for his first time chasing feisty river smallmouth on the Delaware River.

Of course, we kept to the same stretch of inbounds water scheduled for the Kayak Anglers of Eastern PA vs the North Jersey Kayak Bass Fishing Club (Portland PA to Belvedere NJ through beautiful Upper Mount Bethel) Delaware River Summer Showdown charity tournament.

John and I had a blast on a beautiful summer day with bent rods and screaming drag as the bronzebacks were in their full summer pattern. My Old Town Kayaks (PDL Pro 120 and Bigwater PDL) kept us in the right spots all day long as we worked our way downriver.
