Daiwa Saltiga VS Monster Yellow tail

Fishing Bahia De Los Angeles Mexico for Snapper, Grouper, and big yellow tail.
I had been dropping down live baits only to catch decent sized pinto bass when all of a sudden It felt like I got stuck in the rocks. My drag was set pretty snug because we had just targeted snapper and grouper the day before. I’m not 100% sure how heavy I set my drag but if I had to guess I’d say between 18-25 lbs. At one point It felt like I was fighting a blufin tuna lol. Iv reeled in Decent sized yellows before but this one was different I was in for a fight. We were already wore down from dropping down 350ft-400ft just to catch pinto bass we had intermitted overcast which was nice but it was still humid AF. At one point I lost my balance an almost got yanked in the water.
As for the gear I was using (Penn Carnage 3 60-80lbs rod) paired with my Daiwa (Saltiga 20,000) with a upgraded popping@Jigging handle.
(50lbs max quattro braid) size 8/0 ringed owner hook.
