Daiwa bg saltist back bay LT 3000 with a gear ratio 5:6. Or the updated daiwa BGSW is a better choice. Tge BGSW line up is updated on its size. Smaller , lighter. That bg3000 is the size of the new bgsw6000, all comes to personal preference
I love this reel. I have the 4000 size. The only problem is the line roller.
I don't know why but I bought 2 of them, and they failed in like 6 months, at most 10 fishing trips and they where ruined, stiff gears and sticky drag, ive rather go with a shimano or even another reel in daiwa lineup, ive been using a penn fierce 3 and It has lasted at least 4 years and works perfectly
I have the Daiwa by combo the lure rating can go up to 1 1/2 should I return it for the 4000 combo for striped sea bass flounder and bluefish
got the 4000 best reel cons – line holder breaks off
I have Daiwa BG 5000 in a surf rod for a year now, best spinning reel I have.
That’s my reel!!
