First of all here is the link to the really cool Polaris Ranger Creek Trail riding episode as I drove through all of our ‘Dry Creeks’ after heavy rains! Man it was a great video, and all of these dry creeks are providing fantastic creek stone habitat for our new Bass Pond project!

In today’s 1/2 Acre Pond Build Update we’ll hop in the John Deere 655C Crawler Loader, aka ‘Highlifter’ and head down to a dry creek and clear the trees to work our way into the creek bed to harvest a bucket load of creek stone. Then we’ll head back up to the pond build site and lay the creek stone for fish cover and spawning habitat to improve the new pond bass fishing habitat as well as the pond spawning habitat as well. This was a bit challenging as the previous landowner did a lot of excavation to keep the wet weather creeks from running over by building up a creek dam inner wall so that when the creek runs high the water does not come out over the creek banks.
Stay tuned for the next episodes as this is an ongoing pond build and we will brind you near live episodes on the progress of this pond build and then the filling process of this new pond as we get rains and it begins the filling process! But we are still a long way from completion, but things are moving along every single day as we work towards the completion!
BACKGROUND:
Oh yes! Our next pond build project is officially underway! Join us for DAY 1 of our new pond build project from our Southern Missouri Ozarks farm as we aim to build a new pond that is much deeper than our current pond and it will likely be connected to the current pond (which has a leak for now by the way) through a future water channel and land bridge. But that is going to be in the future for sure. So for today’s episode I’ll show you the rough layout of the new pond dam and I’ll start skimming the ‘black dirt’ an sod from the top 2 feet and start building the general shape of the future pond interior and the future pond dam. We’ll also get a drone look after Day 1 to see our progress. Thanks for joining us today if you enjoy this stuff please hit the like button and consider subscribing to follow along this summer on this major pond build projects, as well as all of our other land management projects, land improvement projects, wildlife habitat improvement projects, John Deere 655C track loader projects, tractor projects, excavation projects, land investing and much more. Thank you we hope to see you on a future episode! #pondbuild #pondbuilding #buildingapond
