Fishing new water is always a challenge, but it’s also one of my favorite parts of tournament fishing. This was my first time at Council Grove City Lake, fishing with the Konza Yak Bass League, and it turned into a true test of finding fish in unfamiliar water.

Only 6 anglers competed, and it couldn’t have been closer — everyone was just one big bite away from winning it all. I couldn’t find the consistent bigger bass, but one key catch earned me Big Bass for the day and showed why taking on new lakes is always worth it.
