  1. You are the first person I have heard say that braid is “very abrasion resistant” … everyone else says it’s not , and that it doesn’t hold up well around rocks for instance bc braid doesn’t stand up to nicks as well as mono.

  2. Mono reflexs light, floro not as much. Floro has less stretch than mono, braid none. Floro best for plastics, jigs, feel type lures. 20# braid great for moving top water lures (buzz, whooper plopper, etc).

  3. Thanks for the tips. As a new fisherman there is so much info out there as far as what type of line to use. I see most push the braid line, which is good if your your fishing for a living and money. I’ve been using mono 12 lb on my reels. After watching this video sounds like I need to try Floro out. Since it most versatile. Where I fish most of time really no need for braid. Beside I don’t have a arsenal of rods reels combos so floro not gonna break the bank. I only use spinning reels. Don’t have and never used. Baitcaster.

  4. Know you probably won’t see this cause it’s 3 yrs later but this was very informative and I will use these tips when I am setting my reels up. Thanks for all these tips. 👍👍

  5. mostly i have done saltwater fishing but now i want to do freshwater fishing but ever one says have use braided line
beacause of my frog top water lures . can i use heavy mono fishing line ?????????

  6. I ordered a large spool of 15 lb. fluorocarbon line (Seaguar Red Label) as per the "general-purpose" comment @ 10:30 in the video. Later noticed that it says "saltwater" line. Sheesh … TOO many options. lol. I think/hope that won't be a big issue if I'm fishing freshwater, eh?

  7. Thanks again Glenn. Bass Resource has great info. I’ve tried entry level flouro before and could not cast the stuff to save my life. I’m really proficient with a baitcaster. Been fishing one for 25 years. What brand and make would you suggest that’s manageable? Thanks again
