What's your favorite way to rig and fish a Texas rig?
35 degree water catching on jig and craw Rhode Island
You retrieve that a lot faster than I do.

I was fishing with a LARGE swimbait today at the Holston River and had a nice smallmouth knock it out of the water and I enjoyed that as much as the last bass I landed. Those big baits draw big fish but sometimes they don't quite fit in their mouths. Good times thought. I use that retrieve with every lure I own.
When I started fishing a Texas rig there were no fancy hooks to use. We just used regular hooks. Probably why I lost so many fish!
Great tips, and appreciate you reminding everyone to let bedding fish go asap!
I like using a small Texas rig from the bank. I catch pretty much everything with it
I prefer throwing a squarebill over a t rig in the spring but I do always have one rigged up so I can pick apart areas that have active fish. I find I can usually catch 1 or 2 more fish in an area doing that.
If I'm using a T rig, I probably have a rage bug tied on. It's one of my favorite plastic bait.
I always want to fish faster rather than slower. But sometimes you just gotta go slow. A Culprit curly tail worm or a zoom trick worm are my go tos for Texas rigs.
Thanks for some good tips! Gotta try! I've never really had any different ways to rig a texas rig. Keep up the good work buddy!
I have caught some of my best bass with a plastic lizard in the spring! Love the tips!
