I hit the local pond on a mid-April morning expecting to throw a topwater Spook, but the fish had other plans. Once I realized the bass were actively blowing up on spawning threadfin and gizzard shad right against the concrete bank, I made a quick audible and tied on a swimbait. That decision paid off in a huge way!
