Catching Bass and a New Personal Best

Shore fishing at Selsey catching Bass on a windy rainy day with rough seas.
Managed to get my personal best from a beach.
Tactics used were two rods fished close in using drop down pulley rigs baited with fresh lug and ragworm.
Fished the tide up and all of us caught Bass.

  1. Nice fish Paul you just never know what might turn up on a beach at Selsey. If coming to the area always worth asking in SAS whats being caught where due to tide and weather conditions. Hope your Op goes as planned on Monday๐Ÿคž

  2. Great to see you catching again Paul and hope your health continues to improve. Itโ€™s exciting to catch a PB but not nearly as satisfying as returning it to its home. Stay safe and tight lines, Mike.

  3. Sunny Surrey where I live, southern angling where I get my bait, and Selsey where I fish, AND I WASN'T THERE fishing TO SAY HI ๐Ÿ˜ข absolutely gutted ๐Ÿ˜ข

  7. Great chatting to you this morning matey, sorry you weren't at the Reunion last night so I could have bought you a beer (or two). I know it will all go well tomorrow and hopefully be the last op you need. Glad to hear the "wire" reel is working, it always worked for me and caught me some good fish. That lovely bass you caught would have been better in the oven me thinks ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Great catch Paul and thoroughly deserved. I too caught a similar size bass a couple of years ago after thinking like you I would never catch a decent fish. Well done. Good luck with the operation and I will be thinking of you as I have a bone marrow biopsy on Monday to see if I am still in remission from leukaemia. Best wishes Dave broadstairs

I understand there is a ban in force on the taking of Bass at the moment, if it were allowed i would have had the family round for that fish !
