Nice Job Wi Fish. Some comments I read are from clueless people. The biggest threat to a healthy LM bass population is too many bass! Some bass need to be kept. Release walleye, that population needs help, keeping bass will help walleye populations grow too.

I always fry my fish outside in an electric fry pan and just use it for that.
I also soak my fish in beer for a little while . I then shake off the beer and then drop it into original Aunt. Jemima original pancake mix then right into the 350 degree oil. By frying outside no smells in the house.

Boy did you get lucky not losing that fish. Great job with the video. I know many people who do not eat bass because of the "fishy taste" but if you do a few steps that can be eliminated or minimized. #1 being keep the smaller 1-2 lb bass. I personally don't keep any large 3lb + bass because I'd like them to be there to catch again or catch them during a tournament. Also the big old bass don't taste as good. Same as deer, moose, etc.
For the folks that get turned away from any tarnt fishy taste, Soak fillets in salt water for few hours ..eliminates that
I personally don't like the flavor of bass but my neighbor does so I give them to him
I'm Will's Dad from the Weekend Homestead. Besides ice fishing spring time fishing for crappie and bluegill I will fish for bass before other game fish. Nothing like the explosion of a big surface strike ! I know of a small lake near Stone Lake that is loaded with bass and northern.
We should get together one day .
