California Aqueduct BASS FISHING {NEW P-B Largemouth Bass}

I went back out to the California Aqueduct, but this time with no chicken liver for catfish bait. All I had to use were the hard baits and soft baits I have for bass fishing.

I decided to keep trying the Rat-L-Trap in hopes of a Striped Bass or a Largemouth Bass. I knew it was going to be hard and a lot of moving to different spots.

I finally found a spot that had a big tumble weed island just below the water surface. I knew if there was bass, they’d probably be hanging out around the island picking off bait fish swimming by.

After many casts, I finally got hooked up to a small Largemouth Bass near that tumble weed Island. It was a small guy, about a half a pound if anything. He was tiny, but mighty. After some pictures, I tossed him back to live another day.

Where there’s one, I’m sure there’s more. With spawning coming up, I’m sure they’re trying to get fat and make beds. I kept using the same bait over and over, finally a bigger one decided to bite.

After thinking I was snagged on the island, I felt the fish swim off then back into the tumble weeds. I for sure thought he was going to break my line. After walking over to the other side, I was able to get him out and onto the floor.

After weighing it, it was at 2lbs. He’s not the biggest, but he is the biggest I’ve ever put on a scale. I never target Largemouth Bass, but I was definitely shocked to catch 2 of them in one day.

I think it’s time to go chase some Monster Largemouth Bass, search for a real PB. A double digit largemouth bass would be awesome, let’s see what the future holds for myself.
