Fished there in the 60’s and early 70’s. Trolled 12” rapalas. MONSTERS….Jimmy Carter was the Avalon Harbormaster and was my Godfather. Spent many amazing times out there.
That wasn’t a Treefish that was Kelpfish. I have to say though this was extremely difficult to watch. This guy came into this all full of himself and his knowledge always talking about something. Else if you want to fish out here be open to new ideas. And this whole I want to keep this one bs was extremely hard to watch. These fish don’t grow large quite often because people like this show up and keep everything they catch. This is the equivalent of us keeping bonefish or a large amount of small Dolphins or Cobia. This whole thing was bs

I grew up in California watching you, you made me want to move to Florida. Now that I'm here in Florida you take a trip to my old fishing grounds…..lol. Maybe one day I'll see you on the water.
Its a shame you didn't get the chance to get on some of the better grade Calicos. The yellowtail are fun catching also

Worst way to fish for calico if you're going for size. Throw surface irons or big weedless swimbaits
